New York City
These works were painted in lower Manhattan during the years 1972-1986. Most were painted from the rooftop of my New York studio, with the air vent of the Holland Tunnel as the subject. Sunrises or sunsets are my preferred time to paint as the light and colors then are both dramatic and saturated. The other paintings of this period are of the waterfront, buildings or street scenes. One example is the World Trade Center Towers under construction.
