Bio

Robert Adzema is a native of Dumont, New Jersey. At Dumont High School, he studied art and was introduced to watercolor painting with John Pappas. After receiving his Bachelor of Industrial Design degree from Pratt Institute, he went on to complete his Masters of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University. He is well known for his sundial sculptures that have been commissioned for public and private spaces throughout the U.S. and in Europe. He co-authored the Great Sundial Cutout Book that has been published in the United States and in Germany. In 2001, he received the Second Annual Sawyer Dialing Prize from the North American Sundial Society. His work is in the public collections of The City of New York, The New York Board of Education, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the State of Connecticut. He is a resident of and maintains his studio in Palisades, New York.
